Disc springs are round steel springs, usually with a hole in the centre. The curve slopes slightly upwards or downwards, allowing the spring to move with the load and absorb high loads. Thanks to the many possible combinations of diameter, thickness, height and shape, disc springs are widely used in a variety of applications.
Disc springs can be stacked in parallel, in series or in a combination of both. When stacked in parallel, the force is increased whilst the compression remains the same. When stacked in series, the force remains the same, but the possible compression increases. A combination of both makes it possible to precisely tailor the force and spring travel to the application.
